Their administration has been turning a blind eye to the reports about grooming and abusive behaviour by the users, thus allowing some bad actors to continue using the instance. Also, with the NSFW creators among the pool of minors and lowering the registration age further from 16 to 13, there are serious questions about user protection. Setting up an extremely poorly moderated Matrix server increases these risks.
